Background:

The Great Sanskrit philosopher and dramatist Kalidas has said that "protection of our physical structure is indeed the foremost means of religion and this body is ultimately the place of -'Brahma', the perfect stage of spiritualism. This body is, therefore, the means of 'Moksha', i.e., liberation and the best means of happy life. The-person who neglects the body and does not care or nurture is essentially a criminal. But focusing the whole attention in the nursing of one's body alone is an irrational act."

Kalidas said this very long time ago and the body which we often call and assume it as the whole physical structure is in fact a means only which is under the control of the mind. Mind and its control are two abstract and distinct areas. A very simple question arises what is mind ? A very mysterious question and no simple answer might be agreeable for everyone. Many centuries have passed but still we ponder about the mind. Many philosophical and scientific researches have been conducted-about mind to know what it is, how it works, why it works etc. But the answer still remains obscure, controversial and often impossible to define.

The invisible and invincible mind in its own place rules over our body and this place, the body becomes useless when, the mind ceases working. The mind is the master and the body servant. No one can say where the mind goes when it wanders.
The oriental philosophy clearly states that the mind is like clean water, as water has no color, shape and smell, but has the immense power when transformed and generated into electricity the mind too has unbelievable powers that mankind cannot imagine about. The mind, even smaller than the atom is in every cell, the mind, therefore, cannot be separated, touched, smelled and tasted.

The 21st century man is still in mystery where the mind is. Medical professionals and scientific researchers believe that mind is inside the heart. But this is not true. A sound and well evidenced proof of the fact is that even those people who have a transplanted heart do not change themselves of their previous behavior. Major surgical operation of the heart does not affect the mind.

The wonderful mind, the mightiest and weakest of all has an outstanding feature and this mind when concentrated in "Sadhana" or call it meditation, results in the spiritual attainment of wonderful bliss and self purification. The perfect state of mind is possible when the body is physically fit, free from diseases. The diseased mind is always surrounded by the evil qualities like animal passion, arrogance, greed, aggressiveness and brutality. The perfect mind is always above these evils, always free from evils and always perfect. The mind of such perfect condition most ideal, disciplined is indispensable along with the disciplined body for the creation of a society - the matching society, a conglomeration of physical world, materialistic things and spiritual philosophy self realization proceeding towards the ultimate objective and destination for best results in the home, the society, and the whole nation. This indeed is the need of the hour, necessity of the present. The most simple method and the way of promoting vital elements of self-realization, leading to the inward path, apart from moral values and bring religious discipline and bring utmost happiness is to do good, be good and let others do the same, behave the same help, serve and perform social and philanthropic activities for the welfare and well being of the mankind.
